Whole 30 challenge/ Paleo Challenge

The challenge ended yesterday. I would like to congratulate everyone who made it through. Please post your experiences on this blog. How you felt energy wise, did you see a difference in body composition etc. I know of quite a few of you that saw huge improvements from this diet. Personally I didn't but that is likely because I only lasted like 10 days.....sorry I had to lie to everyone who asked because I didn't want to give you an excuse to stop just because your coach is little girl weak when it comes to sugar. Its probably time for me to nut up and make a real effort at improving my habits.

I am really proud of all of you and thanks again to Tanya, Solo and Jenny for spearheading this. I have learned a lot from putting it on and how I would like to improve it the next time... September 1st will be our next official challenge and I hope to have even more people including myself doing it.

  1. Obviously i wasnt as hard core/ disciplined as most hence the 900+ burpees i'll be doing over the next few years, but overall it was a pretty cool experience.

In the first 10days etc i had a really hard time maintaining energy which made training even harder than i already make it with some regretful off-field decisions on a day to day basis. I was really dizzy to start as well.

After that though, my body got used to it and got used to the different and lower calorie intake. I know its not supposed to be less calories but i just cant eat that much all the time.

i like beer. lets get it out into the open, so i managed a few thousand extra calories when i needed it.

overall, i feel pretty fackin good. im gonna continue to eat 'mostly' paleo but indulge moderately when i need to.

also, i started the challenge at 192.5 lbs and as of yesterday i was 182.1 lbs.

congrats to all that actually did it!

Keep rock'n out w/ your cock out!!!

  3. Wow congratulations Knightrider. I am so proud of you.

I loved this challenge and will continue eating this way in the future. The biggest challenge for me was the sugar but I feel like I have conquered that now and feel better because of it. I lost 6 pounds woot woot. I want to get to my goal measurements/weight by October 13th=) I feel like I have so much more energy now. My mom started the challenge this Monday and I am helping her. The best thing for me about this challenge is that it makes me organized and makes me eat regularly something I have had troubles with since I was 16 ask Chelan she use to count my tortellini lol to make sure I ate it all. Oh memories. Anyways thanks everyone for all the encouragement and daily blogs it helped me stay focused. Thanks Chris and Tanya.

  5. So the Paleo Challenge went good for the first two weeks. I am not gonna make any excuses, but life got busy and I completely fell of the rails last weekend.

But overall it has been positive for me. Since I started Crossfit I have been eating a lot better and the challenge helped me make positive diet changes.

For me, pretty sure that dairy is out for good. I still struggle with sugar and was most definitely eating dried fruit (dates and raisins) to compensate. Not missing bread, but I miss rice. Who'd a thought. Gonna be a while before I can substitute rice and all that goes with it out of the diet.

Not drinking anything other than water for quite a while now, except beer and the occasional glass of wine.

It was very helpful getting feedback from the blog and suggestions. Gotta say, need to eat something other than fruit smoothies and eggs for breakfast.

Final results are good, gonna continue a paleoish diet from here on. Down a couple of pounds since that start, 240 ~ 233. Its especially nice that the ladies are startin to notice ;)

Thanks for all the support form Tanya, Jen and everyone else involved.

  6. I'm in for the Sept 1st paleo challenge. I most defintely did not go the whole 30 days without cheating but considering my wicked sugar habit regularly, I think I did pretty well. Vinnie's even on my case about it! I'll try and go hard core for the Sept 1st challenge.

I lost a few pounds (3-4) but nothing major, probably because I wasn't as strict as directed. I'm going to do my best to stick to a paleo diet from now, it's amazing what foods you realize you can/should live without when you cut them out of your diet for a while. I had a bowl of cereal the other day and had to go lie down afterwards. Big mistake.

  7. Congrats to everyone!!!

Matt and I did the Whole 28 instead of the Whole 30....as we are on vacation it was just too hard to resist a beer. (And we did the complete whole 30 in May)

Overall feeling great. My wicked sugar cravings (like, really really bad) are pretty much gone, which is amazing.

I didn't lose any weight, but lost 3 inches overall since the 1st day of the challenge, which makes me happy :)

I am in for September 1st!!
