Hope everyone is enjoying the Paleo challenge so far if you are doing it. Reminder to click on the nutrition link on the left for the blog to leave comments and what you are eating.
I wanted to point something out that I haven't talked about yet. Our very own Robyn came to me a little under a year ago after spectating at the CrossFit Games last year with the explicit goal of wanting to compete in next years games. We started her off with a strength based program and have moved steadily since then. Her gains, especially for someone who has CrossFitted for a while, have been awesome. Well as you know she achieved her goal, as she is a member of the CrossFit Lions team that will be competing July 15-18th in Carson California. Congrats to you Robyn, you have definitely earned it.
Those who are thinking about going to the games to check it out and support Garth and the team, leave a comment on the blog as we might have extra tickets so you don't have to buy them. We are likely going to be staying in Long Beach and I guarantee you will have an awesome weekend.
Its a rest day or make up day today. As usual gym is open from 7-10 and 4:30-7:30.

way to go robyn, our leader. You have earned it. So happy we are teammates. You are an inspiration to us all.
ReplyDeleteAins
Ditto, your hard work is an inspiration. YEAH ROBS!!!
ReplyDeleteAll i can say is, I have the best coach out there !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris for everything :) and to everyone in the gym that pushes me everyday.
p.s on a funny note and true story, when i was 6,7,8, every year,my mom would ask me when you grow up Robs what do you want to be,I always said I just want to be in the olympics. As the yrs past the family kept asking "robs your not getting younger have you found the sport yet.
I always would say, not yet, but I just know im going. After not making it through in squamish, we had a family dinner, and we came up with it was either going to be the Luge or skeleton, probably the easiest and quickest to learn for me at this age :)ha! Thanks guys !!xo
Robs
Good thing cause luge looks dangerous!
ReplyDeleteRobyn, you have found your sport. They just need to have pullups in the Olympics!
Annie :)
This may be the last day of my 3 days Paleo try out. I actually couldn't bring myself to do double unders tonight, I felt so drained! I ended up doing sets of 25, 50 just seemed unattainable the way I felt. :( Going hungry is not for me. I love my food!
I met Robyn in early 2005 and remember so clearly the day we celebrated her first 100lb deadlift. Its AWESOME to see how far she has come, though not surprising considering her non-stop efforts over these years. Robyn is incredible in every way and I'm glad that she has found family at CF Lions. And how lucky for you all to have her! :)
ReplyDeleteRobs: I'm stoked that you've found your Olympic Games. So proud of you and for me personally, I feel so lucky to be counted amongst your friends. Thank you for being you!
I'll be cheering for you all via the live feed! Congrats to you and your team. Strong Work!
-Carms :)
Yeah Robyn!!! Very inspiring...
ReplyDeleteMatt and I are going to LA to cheer you guys on, can't wait! We got SUPER cheap flights on Allegiant out of Bellingham...
Would love tickets if anyone has extra :)
Cannot wait for the games.
ReplyDeleteI will be coming to watch and would love an extra ticket as well.
Thank you
~Alicia
Congrats to everyone heading to LA!!!
ReplyDeleteAnnie and everyone competing - again, this is not the time to be messing with your diet. I would prefer to see you give it a shot after the games.
Additionally, to those doing the Whole30 gig - don't torture yourself and go hungry. Eat more. Just eat more whole foods...
B is escorting me to the games and would also love a spectators ticket.
ReplyDeleteAins
Do we all get a spectator ticket for those of us competing?
ReplyDeleteIf so Scott and I would have 2 for you guys, unless Geoff and Annie tag along...we are working on them! :)
And I am officially off the paleo wagon. Sorry guys, gotta look out for my sanity and energy. Had to rest again today, so lethargic and head is so foggy! But I am planning on having a normal dinner and easing back into my zone. May tweak it a bit to clean up my eating a tad.
